The instructors of every course have access to detailed statistics about their learners' performance. Some information is displayed next to the lesson, some can be found in the side menu.
Ways to get the data
1. For each assignment, you can view the success rate and the number of learners succeeding in completing the assignment. Note that if the success rate is unusually low (less than 20%), you might conclude that the assignment is too difficult and change it accordingly;
2. For each lesson included in a course, there is information on the average time of completion, number of views and learners who fully completed the lesson. Find it in the course syllabus:
This data is available to any course learner.
3. Submissions. You can go to all submissions of a particular problem from the step:
The data is only available to admins and teachers. They can see all attempts of learners, as well as sent reviews.
Course statistics
Course admins and instructors also can use the following course settings:
Grade book
In the Grade book (found in the course settings) you can see and also create an Excel sheet containing all the information about course enrollments and the number of points obtained by the learners.
Instructor Dashboard
You can observe the course performance based on the success rate of learners and comments on the course in the Instructor's Dashboard. The system automatically evaluates steps of the course on the matter of following issues: low successful solution rating, comment reports, negative comments, unanswered comments, unusual reviews, plagiarism, magic (machine-trained model using various characteristics of steps, including all the above and some others).
For example, to evaluate the complexity of the problems, look at the discrimination index. If it is high (from 0.5 to 1, it means that the problem ix complicated enough and is best solved by A-graders than F-graders).
Statistics
In every course, you can find all the statistics about course enrollment and the success rates of modules under the settings category 'Statistics'.
