The course is a set of separate lessons, each devoted to one topic.
Usually. a module consists of theoretical materials (about 2 hours) and practical assignments (about 2-4 hours).
Any lesson can be standalone or included in one or several courses.
Adding modules
To add course content, go to Edit course syllabus. The author, admins and teachers of the course can edit content.
Create a first module. You can change title, order of displaying and settings of the module at any time:
Save changes button will bring you out of edit mode. Save and continue editing button will save the changes and let you continue editing.
Module settings
In the module settings, you can:
- modify the exam module and set up the time limit;
- set up grading policy.
Adding lessons
You can add any number of lessons. In addition, you can use the lessons you created earlier. One lesson can be added to several courses.
Adding existing lessons
You can find the lesson from the list by the name or lesson ID. Copy the lesson ID from the URL: https://cogniterra.org/lesson/9173/step/1.
You can not add the same lesson to the course 2 times, but you can add the same lesson to different courses.
Also, you can use adding existing lesson for moving lesson from one course to another.
To move a lesson from one course to another:
- delete the lesson from the first course by clicking on the cross button;
- add the existing lesson to another course.
Adding steps
There are theoretical and practical steps on Cogniterra.
To add theoretical and practical steps, you need to:
- click on plus button;
- select the step type you want;
- add content to the step and set it up.

Moving Steps
Within one course, you can change the order of steps by drag & drop. To move a step to another lesson, you should click and hold with the mouse the six dots to the left of the course name and then move it to another lesson:
Attachments
For each course, you can add additional files (lecture notes, training materials, presentations, etc.), each file - no more than 25 MB.
You can add files in the sidebar of the settings of the course:

To make the files available to learners, you need to insert a link to the attached document in the required step of the lesson (copy the link to the file by right-clicking on the file).
