Cogniterra has its own apps for learning.
They can be found here:
App Store (for iOS devices)
Play Market (for Android devices)
Or type "Cogniterra" in the search bar in App Store or Play Market.
Advantages of the apps
Our mobile apps make learning more flexible and comfortable. There you can listen to lectures and watch videos, read materials, solve assignments and even write code. The apps also have their own special features, such as downloading video to watch offline, personal deadlines, etc. (you can find more information on it in Advanced features in the app).
The apps support most of the practical assignments and all the courses available in the web version are also available there. However, sometimes the course content might not be adjusted for the apps, which can make learning difficult. Here is our checklist for you to understand if your course is fully adapted for the apps.
Checklist
-
- Black text color is standard, highlight colors look good on the dark background.
The apps have a dark theme feature, and standard black text is automatically converted according to it. However, if a text color was changed to black manually, it will not be properly visible. When using other text colors, consider how they look in the dark theme. - Steps don’t contain big images or screenshots with tiny text.
The apps don’t allow for zooming images, and small fonts are hard to make out on a smartphone screen. - Sound in videos is high-quality.
In the apps, video lectures can also be listened to as a podcast. Many learners do just so, so take care to provide high-quality sounds to videos in your course. - The course doesn’t contain embedded videos.
To make sure it is convenient to learn at your course via mobile devices, upload videos directly rather than via iframe. Watching embedded videos may require opening other apps, for example, YouTube, and it can interfere with the learning process. - Learners will be aware of exams if there are any in the course.
If your course involves exams, don’t forget to mention in the course that it’s not possible to take exams in the app (including those with proctoring). The exam page will open in the web version (in the default browser) and it might not be convenient for the learner. - Your course has been tested.
Check all the steps of your course on your own or ask someone to test the course to see how well it’s adjusted to the apps
- Black text color is standard, highlight colors look good on the dark background.
Additional information
If you want to promote in-app learning experience for your courses, please note that their price in the apps may be higher (more on how prices in the apps are formed in this article). Consider it when you create promo codes and plan promotion strategy. Important: you can’t put information on the price difference in the course description, so use other ways to inform your learners about it.
