For students
Cogniterra students can get a refund within 30 days after purchasing a paid course if the course did not suit them.
Refund Terms and Conditions:
- If the course was purchased in the web version of Cogniterra, then it is enough for the user to write to us at support@cogniterra.org and send a screenshot of the receipt.
Buying a course through the Android app transfers the user to the web version of the system. In this case, a refund is requested as a refund of a purchase made in the web version. - If the course was purchased in the App Store, then payments are processed on the Apple side, so Cogniterra cannot manage refunds. Refunds are made in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Use of Apple Multimedia Services.
Since September 14, 2022, the purchase of courses in the Apple app is not available.
The possibility of refund for students is stated in the User Agreement. When considering an application for a refund, we look at the amount of material covered: if the course has been completed in full or a significant part has been mastered, then no refund is made. Each request is processed individually, we try to take into account the specifics of each course to determine the possibility of a refund. Also, we always ask the user about the reason for the return, if the answer can be useful to the author of the course, then we pass it on.
For authors
Refunds are displayed in the author's personal account and in the course in the Income section, as well as in monthly reports. The refund amount is deducted from the author's current balance. If there is no required amount on the balance sheet at the moment, it will be withheld in the next reporting period.
There are different rules apply depending on the payment system. When returning payments made via:
- ЮKassa, we additionally deduct from the author's income the commission of the payment service for the transaction, which we compensate the user so that he receives the full amount;
- Paddle, the additional amount is not withheld;
The refund rules for authors are regulated by the agency agreement for courses in rubles and Cogniterra Instructor Terms & Conditions for courses in dollars.
Usually, refunds occur due to the fact that the user did not fully understand which topics and how they will be covered in the course. Therefore, we always recommend adding free introductory lessons to the course and carefully filling out the promo page of your course.
At the request of the user, we can make a refund for the purchase of a closed course, even after 30 days from the date of purchase, if the author closed the course without warning the students.
We recommend informing students about the closure of the course, for example, through a announcements: /hc/en-us/articles/360000159833.
